In Barcelona’s Upper Area, there are places where dinner can be just the beginning, and Nu BCN is one of them. Housed in a spectacular renovated farmhouse on Carrer Doctor Fleming, this restaurant combines gastronomy, design, a landscaped terrace and a lounge atmosphere in a setting designed to be enjoyed without constantly watching the clock.

Its concept brings together different spaces, from elegant dining rooms to private areas and a spacious terrace surrounded by gardens. A setting that works just as well for a relaxed lunch as for a special dinner and that, as night falls, takes on a livelier personality with music and DJ sessions.

A place to experience Barcelona differently

Its location in the Sant Gervasi-Galvany area and the distinctive character of the building give Nu BCN a personality of its own. The former farmhouse has been transformed into a contemporary space where gastronomy, leisure and different atmospheres come together.

The landscaped terrace is particularly appealing when the weather is good, while the different dining rooms and private areas make it possible to adapt the experience to different occasions. It is also a venue prepared for private celebrations and events.

Gastronomy: Mediterranean cuisine with Asian influences

Cuisine is one of the pillars of Nu BCN’s new chapter. The restaurant focuses on market cuisine based on products selected daily, prepared with technique and presented with a carefully considered presentation. They have also introduced a lunchtime menu, which is proving very popular in the area thanks to its excellent gastronomic quality and very competitive price.

At the helm of the kitchen is Executive Chef José Vega, a chef with experience at restaurants associated with chefs such as David Muñoz, Vicente Patiño and Raúl Aleixandre, as well as projects by Ricard Camarena. His cuisine at Nu seeks to combine elegance and flavour, with dishes that are not overly heavy.

The menu draws on different influences. Market cuisine shares the spotlight with Asian-inspired creations such as sushi and nigiri, providing an interesting contrast to a Mediterranean-based offering.

Among the dishes we have tasted are foie gras with figs, Maldon salt and pepper, a selection of sushi dishes, pheasant cannelloni with foie gras and black truffle, black cod loin and Nebraska beef cooked to perfection.

The extensive wine list also deserves a special mention, offering a carefully selected range of national and international wines to accompany and complete the Nu BCN dining experience.

Why visit Nu BCN?

Because Nu BCN offers much more than simply sitting down for a meal. It is a restaurant designed for those who enjoy both gastronomy and atmosphere, and who want their after-dinner conversation to effortlessly turn into a night of music, cocktails and good company.

Market cuisine with international touches, sushi, a garden-surrounded terrace and an atmosphere that evolves as the night progresses make Nu BCN an interesting place to discover in Barcelona’s Upper Area.

A place to eat well or enjoy a leisurely dinner and let the night continue.
