As of November 1st, the Mallorca-based hotel group Meliá Hotels International will take over the management of the six boutique hotels that make up the MiM Hotels chain, owned by Lionel Messi. With this move, the properties will become part of The Meliá Collection, a brand that blends local identity with global reach.

The MiM Hotels are located in iconic destinations such as Sitges, Mallorca, Ibiza, Baqueira Beret, Andorra, and Sotogrande. Previously managed by Majestic Hotel Group, the hotels will now operate under the Meliá umbrella, bringing with them a portfolio of properties known for their distinctive personality. Highlights include the iconic Messi Suite, signed replicas of the Ballon d’Or, designer interiors, and a strong boutique philosophy that has always been a hallmark of the MiM brand.

While Meliá will handle the operations, the hotels will retain their unique character, intimate atmosphere, and individual charm — preserving the essence that sets them apart, now within the The Meliá Collection family. At the same time, they will benefit from the group’s robust booking platform, increased visibility, and extensive commercial network.

What does this change mean?

Management + identity
Meliá is committed to running the hotels without diluting their original spirit. Each property will keep its boutique style, signature design elements, and exclusive ambiance. It's as if Messi has handed over the baton, but not the sheet music.

Global visibility
Joining The Meliá Collection is more than just a change of name. It means gaining access to the international market, connecting with a network of discerning travelers, and upholding high standards of quality — ideal for guests seeking charming escapes with guaranteed excellence.

Sustainability and well-being
Several MiM Hotels are already certified for sustainability and offer wellness programs in thoughtfully designed spaces that respect their natural surroundings. This direction will be further strengthened, aligning with the growing demand from travelers who seek destinations not only for their views or comfort, but for the soul and care they reflect.
