Maymanta is more than a restaurant; it's a sensory experience that blends the essence of Peru with the Mediterranean from the rooftop of the Grand Hyatt Barcelona. Led by renowned Peruvian chef Omar Malpartida, this gourmet rooftop redefines contemporary Peruvian cuisine in a privileged setting with hypnotic panoramic views.

Where is it and what makes it special?

Located on the 19th floor of the Grand Hyatt Barcelona (Plaça Pius XII, Les Corts), Maymanta brings together the refined cooking of chef Omar Malpartida with a visually stunning setting overlooking everything from Camp Nou to the Mediterranean Sea.

Culinary Philosophy: A Symbiosis of Peru and the Mediterranean

Maymanta’s concept is based on a bold yet elegant fusion: ingredients directly sourced from Peru — like ají amarillo, rocoto, or Andean corn — are combined with local Catalan products such as red prawns, octopus, or fresh Mediterranean fish.

What to Order (and Why)

  • Choclo Tortita: a crispy corn base topped with red prawn tartare, beluga caviar, seaweed yuzu mayo — bold in flavor, impeccable in presentation.
  • Limeña Pularda Croquette: a refined take on the classic ají de gallina, made with free-range chicken, Parmesan, and onion ash — creamy, intense, and comforting.
  • Ceviches & Tiraditos: a ceviche bar offering fresh fish cut in front of diners — hake, sea bass, sole — served in criolla, Amazonian, or grilled styles, with Mediterranean influences.
  • Anticuchero Octopus with Romesco: grilled octopus paired with avocado and a Catalan-Peruvian romesco sauce.
  • Lomo Saltado: a refined version of the Peruvian classic, with smoked onions, roasted tomatoes, crispy yellow potatoes, rice, and corn.
  • Apicaronada French Toast: sweet potato brioche, fig ice cream, lemon meringue, and honey — a sweet finale with refined technique and nostalgic flavor.

Cocktails: Bright, Creative, and Authentic

The experience at Maymanta is not complete without its vibrant cocktail program. The Pisco Sour comes in both classic and creative versions — passion fruit, berries, purple corn — crafted with premium piscos such as Tacama, Parras Centenario, or Pisco Leyenda.

Signature Peruvian artisanal spirits — including purple potato vodka and Andean gins — complement the liquid offering with unique character and origin.

Ambient i sostenibilitat

Ambience and Sustainability

As the sun sets, the rooftop becomes a Sunday ritual with afro‑house and Latin‑house music, signature cocktails, and the ideal vibe for early evening gatherings. The design by Futur‑2 incorporates recycled materials, warm lighting, and textures that evoke both the Peruvian jungle and the Mediterranean coast.

Sustainability plays a key role: Maymanta promotes a circular economy, working with artisans and ethical suppliers, and directly importing key products through its Manos Cruzadas Foundation.
