From the vineyards rooted in the soils of Lleida come wines of great quality. In this territory, stretching across the Segre River basin and the Lleida Pyrenees, the continental climate with Mediterranean influences causes strong temperature fluctuations, ideal for vine cultivation.
The predominant white grape varieties in the Costers del Segre Denomination of Origin are the traditional parellada and macabeo, which provide a classic, light, and fruity profile to their white wines. As for the native red varieties, tempranillo, garnacha, and taladrado stand out, as well as French varieties like cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and chardonnay. This territory was the first to introduce and cultivate these varieties in our land.
