Can Saló is a family-run restaurant located in the very heart of the Empordà, in the village of Palau-sator, set in a traditional Catalan farmhouse that still maintains its agricultural roots.
Palau-sator is a small medieval village nestled between Pals and Peratallada—two gems of the Empordà—and is well worth a visit before sitting down to dine.
The restaurant boasts an exceptional garden, making spring and summer evenings a truly unique dining experience under the stars. Inside the farmhouse, there are several dining rooms of various sizes. For groups, it is possible to reserve a private room and enjoy traditional cuisine in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Can Saló is one of those places where you can experience traditional Catalan cuisine in its most authentic and elevated form.
Its dishes are crafted with locally sourced (Km 0) ingredients and a strong focus on quality. On the menu, you’ll find specialties such as anchovies from l’Escala, smoked sardines with escalivada, snails with allioli and tomato, grilled goat cheese with warm escalivada trinxat, slow-roasted beef cheek, stewed pig’s trotters, tripe and veal snout—and one of the true highlights of the house: the grill.
Meats from Girona and local rockfish cooked over the coals develop an exceptional aroma and flavor, thanks to the preservation of their natural juices.
